Executive Touch Cleaning Services(ETCS) is a residential cleaning company that is exclusive to the city of McKinney. The company was created in 2004, employs 13 people and offers cleaning services by the hour. What makes this company special is that ETSC requires no service minimums. They are happy to clean either your entire home or just one room. With proven cleaning time caps, their customers know they are never paying too much.


Business Challenge:

When ETSC first started 4 years ago, owner Ruth Garcia was using Outlook to schedule and QuickBooks to invoice. In Outlook, she liked how she could colorcode appointments, see services being provided on the calendar and enter notes about appointments. However, inputting data manually from Outlook into QuickBooks was a major drawback to her system.

Ruth explained the tedious process of closing off an appointment, saying, “I would go into QuickBooks, put times into the QuickBooks timesheet manually and then I would complete the invoices from the timesheet, so it was a very long process. It would take me a week to get their time in and 10 days to do invoicing.”

Closing out only one job at a time in this lengthy process, Ruth used to work all night long . As a result, she decided to invest in a scheduling software. She needed one that would integrate with QuickBooks so she could spend less time doing administrative work.

Ruth went with an expensive competitor of QXpress after being made promises that weren’t lived up to. “I had originally purchased a very high-end product but it didn’t interface with QuickBooks the way they told me it did… what they told me was false because invoices don’t individually load over into invoices in QuickBooks, they just go over in one lump transaction… you could never go into QuickBooks invoices and customers and see the detail.”
