Going "live" and switching QB files

(I'm not really going to go live yet, but i do want to switch to a newer copy of our Quickbooks file and the process should be the same).

How do I remove all of the data in my account (while still keeping my customized screens and tables) and switch to a different Quickbooks company file?

     Matt,

You have two options listed below:

Option 1:  We can create a new Company File for you and then you can manually copy over your Screens using the Copy/Import feature.  We can give you a few days to ensure you get all the screens copied over and then we will delete your current account.

Option 2: In the QuickBooks Tab Link there is an option to reset the QuickBooks Company File.  This will erase all information but keep all your current Screens.  The only downfall of this method is that your activity number will not reset, so you will have bogus activity numbers from all your previous data.

Let me know which option you would like to use and we will go from there.

    Mark,

Option 2 sounds better, but what do you mean by bogus activity number? Just that it isn't really starting at 1?

Yep, it will just continue from where you left off

I am in a simiar situation as Matt, except that I have been using my current QB database.  Now I would like to create a dummy database to test a few things before we go full force on this.  Since I haven't done a much customization, I think I would like to go with option 1.  Can you detail the necessary steps?

All I need is your company name, however, keep in mind that everything will be gone.
